Something has gone missing on the mountain again. A toboggan. An entire strudel. The last of the good Genepy. In every case there are forty-eight guests. Each holds a numbered lift pass and each went somewhere on the mountain that day: the village, the chairlift, the gondola, or the funicular. One of them is guilty, and Detective Otis has assembled the clues.
Use the clues to cross out every guest they rule out. Some turn on a name. Some need a little arithmetic on a pass number. And some send you back to the mountain itself, to work out who climbed higher than whom. Work through them all and exactly one guest is left standing.
